Okay, so there is this official blurb about English at Morrinsville College. It goes something along the lines of:

English is a dynamic course that encourages a high level of critical thinking, text analysis, lateral thinking and discussion based learning. The course places a strong emphasis on high level literacy and oracy. In addition the course is designed to prepare students to successfully engage at a first year university level.”
